Two people were killed and three other people were seriously injured Thursday night when a car hit a concrete barrier and then flipped over the barrier and landed on its roof, on Interstate 76 at the central interchange in downtown Akron. Rochelle Braziel of Akron, and Jeanette Weiss of Cleveland, were killed in the accident. Braziel was sitting in the front passenger seat while Weiss was in the back seat. The driver, James Woodruff of Akron, was admitted to Akron Medical Center. Two of the other passengers, Derrick Smith of Akron, and Brian Hudson of Akron were also taken to the hospital with injuries. The accident happened at 8:15 at night and the Akron police said that alcohol might have played a role in the crash.
