November 12th, 2010 Author: Anneke

Two federal lawsuits were filed in court on Monday November 8, 2010 against Toledo Police Officer Diane Chandler.

The family of  Linda Hicks, a woman killed by Officer Chandler, filed against her, the City of Toledo, Toledo Police and Marria’s Adult Group Home.

In the second case against Ms. Chandler was filed by Nathaniel Lewis after being struck by Ms. Chandler’s vehicle in an unrelated incident.

Charles Boyk said, “We’re not saying any of these are criminal acts, we’re saying they are excessive under federal law. At a minimum, we’re going to force the TPD to take another look at how they handle these situations.”

Both lawsuits seek at least $75,000 in damages.
