Ellen Cervellon, director of the nursing program at Oikos University fells as though she was the gunman’s primary intended target after she rejected his repeated requests for a refund of his tuition. However, Cervellon was not on campus on April 2, 2012 when her former student One Goh, 43, came looking for her. Goh murdered seven people during his rampage.
Cervellon feels guilty for the murdering of her students. She said, “Every single of those students were going to be an excellent, excellent nurse. They’re in my heart, and they always will be.”
Oakland Police Chief Howard Jordan confirmed that Cervellon was indeed the apparent target of One Goh. Goh has been charged with seven counts of murder and three counts of attempted murder, plus a special circumstance allegation of committing multiple murders that could make
him eligible for the death penalty.
Goh acknowledged going to Oikos University of Monday with a .45-caliber handgun and four magazines of ammunition. He also admitted to kidnapping a woman and forcing her into a classroom at gunpoint. In addition, he confessed to shooting and killing several people inside the classroom, before taking one of the victim’s car keys and fleeing the scene in the victim’s car. Goh was arrested an hour later at a supermarket a few miles from campus.
Cervellon said that Goh had dropped out of the nursing program at the school around November but returned numerous times asking her for a full refund. Goh became angry when she informed him that the school could not refund all of his money because he had attended almost half of the program. During previous meetings with Cevellon, Goh admitted that he felt as though his other classmates were picking on him.
