A Napoleon woman was found dead on Monday January 16, 2012.

Kaitlyn Nagel’s, body was found at 555 West Main Street  near downtown Napoleon.  She had been stabbed multiple times.

According to R.L.Weitzel, Napoleon police chief, Michael Peddicorn, Nagel’s fiancé, has been charged with the aggravated murder of Nagel.

Around 11:55 a.m.  on Monday, Peddicord called 911 to report a possible homicide.

A settlement has been reached in the wrongful death suit of 24 year old Sean Heflin. The mother of Sean has been awarded $975,000 for the 2007 death of her son.

The incident happened when Sean was on the second floor porch of his girlfriend’s apartment. He fell over the railing, suffered a severe brain injury, and died six months later.

The lawsuit states that the porch railings were actually about 10 inches lower that the required building code of Chicago. The wrongful death suit was brought against the owner and manager of the apartment complex.

Jury finds resident’s death the responsibility of care facility | Toledo Ohio wrongful death lawyer

The Emeritus Corporation, operator of Emeritus at Canton has recently been found responsible by a federal jury for the death of a resident. Emeritus at Canton, which is formerly The Landing at Canton, is an assisted living and senior living facility. Emeritus Corporation is the operator of many of these facilities across Ohio and the United States.

Emeritus was found liable for the claims filed against them by the children of Dorothy Freudman. Dorothy was 80 years old and living in the facility when a nurse violated the company policy by leaving her medication on her bedside table while she was sleeping. It was not until more than three hours later that employees discovered Mrs. Freudman unconscious.

The nurses called for an ambulance and she was taken to the hospital. Upon admission into the hospital it was discovered that Dorothy had extremely low blood sugar levels and had suffered from brain damage. After being in a coma for several days, she remained in a semi-comatose state for more than a year until her death.

Dennis Freudman, Dorothy’s son, filed a wrongful death lawsuit against the Emeritus Corporation after his mother’s death in 2008.

The wife of Timothy Faulkner has filed a wrongful death suit against J.D. & Billy Hines Trucking Inc. and Charles Gwin. The fatal collision occurred in Texas on February 21. Timothy Faulkner and Charles Gwin were both driving tractor trailers on Highway 371 when Mr. Gwin’s collided into Mr. Faulkner.

Bus Acident in New York Kills 15 | Toledo, Ohio wrongful death lawyer

A bus belonging to World Wide Travel crashed along Interstate 95 in The Bronx, New York. The crash took place early in the morning on March 12th. The driver of the vehicle lost control and struck two sign poles one after the other. The accident killed 14 instantly and forced the closing of I-95 in both directions for much of the day.

The bus was traveling from a casino in Connecticut to Chinatown in New York. This is not the first incident with this company however. The company had been involved in at least two accidents in the last two years as well as being cited five times for fatigued driving from December 2009 to October 2010.

On top of the deaths there were also serious injuries to some of the survivors. The injuries included things like internal bleeding, broken bones and skull and spinal fractures.

The driver of the vehicle claims that the cause of the accident was a tractor trailer cutting him off, however witnesses claim they did not see that. The accident is still under investigation.
