A wrongful death lawsuit has been filed against ALZA Corporation. The suit was filed by Preston Ward, the husband of Janine Ward who died as a result of taking the company’s faulty pain-relief patch.

According to the lawsuit, Janine Ward died on May 4th of 2010 after using one of ALZA’s prescription pain patches.

The toxicology reports later showed that Janine had a lethal level on fentanyl in her bloodstream at the time of her death. The patch was defective in that there was a manufacturing flaw that caused the drug to be released too quickly.

The family of William Warden has filed a wrongful death lawsuit against the nursing home he was living at. In the complaint filed it alleges that Erwin Health Care waited days before notifying a docor or any member of the family that he was comatose.
William Warden was 93. He entered Erwin Health Care on March 8th, 2011, and he weighed 162. After 40 days if being in the facility he lost more than 20 pounds.

The lawsuit states that Warden had a raging infection, was profoundly dehydrated and was in kidney failure.

Jonathan Burgess died at Shannon Medical Center, two days after being shot in a hunting accident.

According to sheriff’s, Burgess was hunting rabbit with some friends near Fort McKavett late one Friday night when he was shot in the back of the head with a 22-caliber rifle in a “freak accident”

After the accident, he was airlifted to Shannon Medical Center.

Burgess was running back for his football team and made a huge impact on his community in many ways.

The family of a molecular biologist at the University of Utah who was killed last August has filed a wrongful death lawsuit against the three men in the boat that ran her over while she was swimming.

Esther Fujimoto was an avid swimmer. She was in the Pineview Reservoir on August 21. She was swimming about 200 to 300 feet offshore when Robert Cole Boyer drover the boat over her. Skyler Shepher and Colton raines were the passengers in the boat.

The lawsuit state that the propeller tore into Ms. Fujimoto’s torso and lower abdomen, causing critical injuries. It was found that Boyer and raines had smoked marijuana prior to the accident and all three had consumed alcohol. After they hit Fujimoto they turned around to see what happened, but the left the scene offering no help.

The suit states that the three men failed their duty to use reasonable care to avoid an accident by operating the boat negligently, driving under the influence, failing to keep a proper lookout, failing to help Fujimoto after hitting her, and failing to get help for her.

Lawsuit filed by father of girl electrocuted | Fremont Ohio wrongful death attorney

Brian Kendall, the father of a 14-year-old girl who was electrocuted last July while removing tassels from corn, has filed a wrongful death lawsuit against Monsanto Corp for the death of his daughter.

Hannah Kendall and Jade Garza were killed when they came into contact with a field irrigator while working on a farm owned by Monsanto Corp. Hannah along with a group of other teenagers were all hired to remove tassels from corn.

Upon further investigation it was found that there was an understood electrical problem with connections to the irrigation system. There were about 72 people working in the filed that day when lightning struck the field. In addition to the two deaths, two other teenagers were seriously injured and six other workers sustained non-life threatening injuries.

The lawsuit alleges that Monsanto knew about the problems with the field’s irrigation system and failed to fix it.
