Wrongful Death Filed Against Cleveland Clinic | Toledo, Ohio wrongful death lawyer

February 24th, 2011 Author: Emmy

Khalil Saddler went to the Cleveland Clinic in 2003 as a newborn to have an abnormal vein at the base of his brain repaired. The vein was causing an excessive flow of blood to his heart. During the surgery the doctors used an instrument on Khalil which specified that it should only be used on adults. The surgeons did not have special permission from the parents to do this, even though according to Ohio law it was necessary.

The wrongful death complaint filed by Khalil’s mother states that the doctors were involved in a series of negligent acts including using a surgical device manufactured for adult-use. The use of this led to brain damage, multiple surgeries and his premature death in 2008. Also named in the complaint is that the surgeons not only used the wrong instrument, but they also used the wrong surgical technique and allowed glue from the device to drip into Khalil’s brain causing him to have a massive stroke and bleeding. This left him severely brain damaged.

If the surgeons had used the right instrument and the right technique, Khalil would still be alive and healthy today. Their negligence lead to the death of a little boy. If you have lost a loved one because of the negligence of doctors you need help.
