The family of Amy Fledderman has recently won a wrongful death case against plastic surgeon Dr. Richard Glunk and nurse Edward DeStefano of King of Prussia, PA. The case was settled for $20 million. Ralph Shafer was admitted into a nursing home in September of 2007 after suffering two strokes and exhibiting signs of dementia, hypertension and diabetes. New York’s Erie County is being sued for failing to protect 23 year old Laura Collins. Laura was a mentally challenged woman who was killed by her mother and brother after years of abuse.

Last January Laura was found dead in her home with the cause of death being suffocation. Her mother has plead guilty to her murder.

Although the mother and half-brother are charged with the murder, further investigation showed that there had been repeated phone calls made to the Adult Protective Services division in the months before her death. The reports claimed that she was being abused, but the county found that the complaints were unfounded.

In Minneapolis Rufus Victor, 29, was fleeing from the police after they had attempted to pull him over for driving erratically just after midnight on Sunday.  After exiting the interstate he headed south on Dowling Rd. and accelerated to speeds of 90 mph.
