BG Father Charged with Son’s Death

Bowling Green resident Brian Steinmiller had been accused of murder, involuntary manslaughter and multiple counts of child endangering for causing injuries to his son, which eventually led to death.

The infant’s mother Rebecca Steinmiller has also been charged with one count of child endangering by the court. According to police, the 25-year-old knew the child’s arm was broken but did not notify law enforcement and did not seek medical care.

Family and Friends say Good-Bye to 1 or 3 girls killed in Car Accident

Wednesday March 7, 2012 Family and friends said goodbye to 19-year-old Chrissy Goyett. The funeral took place at 11 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church on West Ivy Avenue near Raymond Street in Bay City.

Goyett was one of three Bowling Green State University students killed in the crash when 69-year-old Winifred Lein hit the car she was in on I-75 south of Toledo.

Lein and Goyett died, along with two other girls, 21-year-old Sarah Hammond and 20-year-old Rebekah Blakkolb.

Their funeral information has not yet been released.

The students were headed to the Detroit Metropolitan Airport for a speing break trip to the Dominican.

The Fight against Drunk Driving

Ohio troopers have increased their efforts to fight drunk driving and have contributed to a 9% drop in fatal accidents this year.

The State Highway Patrol reported that January – October of this year, 824 people were killed on Ohio roads. That’s down from 902 fatalities during the first ten months of 2010.

Reports also say that troopers made 934 more arrests for driving while drunk during this period then they did from January through October of last year.

The agency notes that 40 percent of all deadly crashes in 2010 were related to drunk driving.

  • Be sure of your target and what lies beyond.

This poor maintenace ultimately lead to the plane crash. The plaintiffs claim that Air Tahoma had reversed the control system on the plane. This means that the trim cables, which are used to bring the plane up and down, were not working properly. This case was settled before it went to trial for $2.5 million.
