Parents Sue Store for Wrongful Death | Toledo, Ohio wrongful death lawyer

September 16th, 2010 Author: Anneke

In the early morning of December 31st a 19 year old man was driving drunk when he lost control of the vehicle and crashed. The young man died at the scene. During the investigation it was found that the young man had bought the alcohol he consumed at a nearby store. The store did not ask the young man for any identification. This was caught on the surveillance video.

Even more than the store clerk not asking for proper identification, two times previous to this the parents of the driver had gone to the store to ask them not to sell alcohol to their son because he was not 21.

The legal team working on the case was able to file the wrongful death under Alabama’s Civil Damages Act. They were also able to prove that the store had a pattern of selling alcohol to minors. The case was settled on behalf of the parents.
