Floor Mat Is To Blame For Crash | Findlay, Ohio wrongful death lawyer

October 7th, 2010 Author: Anneke

The widow of Jeffery Levine is suing Toyota Motor Corp. and a Toyota dealership because of the December car crash that ended the life of her husband. Jeffrey Levine was driving home from work on the highway when the gas pedal of his company car, a 2009 Toyota Tacoma, became lodged under the floor mat. This caused the vehicle to accelerate to speeds over 90 mph. His vehicle crashed into a motor home and the went off the road. Because of the position of Mr. Levine’s body at the time of his death, it can be proven that he was trying to dislodge the accelerator at the time of the accident.

The recall of the floor mats came to the US about a month after Mr. Levine’s death and was in Europe previous to this. Only a month earlier the vehicle had been inspected at a Toyota dealership and they did  not fix  the problem even though they knew about the recall in Europe.
