Fatal House Explosion Wrongful Death Suit Filed | Toledo, Ohio wrongful death attorney

January 26th, 2011 Author: Emmy

A wrongful death lawsuit was recently filed against East Ohio Gas Company in Lake County. The lawsuit was filed by Frank Pitchler for the death of his wife on January 28, 2009. The lawsuit states that a plastic pipe inside a steel pipe was improperly used to connect the EOG gas line to the house. The plastic pipe then cracked allowing gas to enter the home.

The hazard in the home was tremendous and the mere turning on of a  kitchen appliance ignited the gas and caused a very large explosion. The entire house was destroyed along with all of the couple’s belongings. Frank was critically injured and his was died 18 hours later in the hospital. The blast was so large that the houses within a 1,000 foot radius of the blast were damaged. The explosion even busted out all of the windows in the house across the street.

It was because of the negligence of the gas company that one woman died, another man injured and many homes were damaged. They need to be held responsible for the damage that they caused.
