Two years ago an Illinois woman was killed by a semi. Her family recently received the settlement from the wrongful death case in which they were awarded $6.5 million.

Tabitha Carrol was riding in a pick up truck on her way to a pumpkin patch. Her husband was driving and her 3 year old son Gabriel was also a passenger. Their pick up was rear ended by a semi tractor trailer which was driven by Jeffrey Repec. The Carrol’s truck was pushed into a stopped IDOT truck and Mrs. Carrol was pronounced dead at the scene.

Repec was found to be under the influence of marijuana at the time of the accident. He plead guilty to aggravated driving under the influence of drugs.
