Enterprise Wrongful Death Suit | Northwest Ohio wrongful death lawyer
A wrongful death suit against Enterprise Rent-a-Car was recently won for $15 million in San Francisco. Rachael Houck had rented a PT cruiser from Enterprise and was driving it on a highway with her sister Jacqueline. The 2004 PT Cruiser that they rented was on recall because the power steering hose in the car could leak, resulting in a fire. The rented car that the girls were driving had not been repaired and when Rachael lost control of steering and had a collision with a tractor trailor unit, the car burst into flames. Both girls lost their life that day.
Enterprise fought the case and said Rachael was to blame for the crash. They offered the family $3 million for not taking it public. Insteas, the parents continued to fight the case and were eventually awarded $15 million.
Enterprise had a respinsibility to rent a safe car that had no defects.
