Dale Emch
Attorney Dale Emch focuses his practice on personal injury and criminal defense law for the Charles E. Boyk Law Offices.
Prior to becoming a lawyer, Dale had an 18-year career in journalism. As a journalist, he worked at newspapers in South Carolina, Indiana, and Ohio.
In 1998, he moved home to take a job at The Blade in Toledo, where he won statewide awards for his investigative stories on local government. Dale is keeping a hand in journalism by authoring a bi-monthly newspaper column in The Blade called Legal Briefs. Readers are encouraged to send legal questions to demch@charlesboyk-law.com.
Dale grew up in West Toledo and Sylvania Township and graduated from Sylvania Northview High School in 1982. He graduated in 1987 from The Ohio State University, where he majored in journalism and was involved with the school newspaper as a reporter and editor.
He graduated cum laude from the University of Toledo College of Law. While in law school, he participated in Law Review as an associate member and a part-time note and comment editor.
He is a member of the Toledo Bar Association, the Ohio Association of Justice, and the American Association for Justice. He serves on the Lucas County Public Defender Commission, the Toledo Bar Association’s media relations board, and the board of the Independent Collegian, which is the University of Toledo’s student newspaper.
