Child Dies Under Watch of Babysitter | Toledo, Ohio wrongful death lawyer

September 9th, 2010 Author:

A recent topic covered by 13 ABC finds that a woman from Muncie, Indiana is found guilty to felony charges of neglect and obstruction of justice. Her sentencing will be on September 28th. This case was tried in Delaware County.

Fourty three year old Tina Byrd was arrested in January a week after a child in her care died. Four month old Matthew Cheng was found unresponsive in his crib, while only thrity minutes before video surveillanceĀ  shows that Byrd was out shopping.

This is not the first child to die under Byrd’s care. Only eleven weeks prior to Michael’s death a nine week oldĀ child also died. In both cases the coroner ruled that it was “sudden unexpexted infant death.” There were no charges or arrests made in the first death though.

These cases are very tragic. Our Toledo, Ohio wrongful death lawyers are experienced in these kinds of cases and prepared to work to get the best settlement.
