26-Year-Old Man Killed in Hunting Accident | Akron Ohio Wrongful Death Lawyer

February 7th, 2012 Author: Emmy

26-year-old Nikolas Neric was killed in a hunting accident by a gunshot wound to his chest and neck.

The accident happened in Grand River Wildlife Area. Reports say another hunter, whose name they will not release until the investigation is complete, thought Neric was a deer and shot him.

A man who called 911 said Neric wasn’t wearing orange and didn’t have a gun. But a report said Neric had a gun in his inner left breast jacket pocket. When the police found Neric, he was lying in the fetal position with his head resting on a fallen tree.

Hunters in the woods at the time were removed and questioned.

An Ohio Department of Natural Resources investigator said no other information will be released until the end of their investigation.
