30-Year-Old Shoots a Mayor | Toledo Ohio Wrongful Death Lawyer

A 30-year-old Thomas Joseph “Tommy” Lattus is scheduled to appear in court facing a murder charge after admitting to shooting 68-year-old Charles Murphy.

Reports say Lattus walked into a police station at about 1 a.m. and confessed that he had just shot Murphy.

Lattus broke into the side door of Murphy’s house and killed him.

Multiple shots were fired, but reports do not say how many times Murphy was shot.

Murphy had apparently dated his-stepmother and up-set Lattus.

A wrongful death lawsuit has been filed by the mother of a woman who was killed in a high-rise fire this month against the owners and managers of the building.

Shantel McCoy was unaware of the fire on her floor and she entered an elevator in the lobby. She was met by 1,500 degrees temperatures.

The suit claims that the building should have had elevators that shut down in case of a fire. The owners and managers also never instructed residents to evacuate the building.

Jonathan Burgess died at Shannon Medical Center, two days after being shot in a hunting accident.

According to sheriff’s, Burgess was hunting rabbit with some friends near Fort McKavett late one Friday night when he was shot in the back of the head with a 22-caliber rifle in a “freak accident”

After the accident, he was airlifted to Shannon Medical Center.

Burgess was running back for his football team and made a huge impact on his community in many ways.

At around 3:50 p.m., 75 year-old Charles Kennedy was driving on Murd Road when he failed to stop at the stop sign. He was hit by another vehicle; the drivers name is currently unknown. The two cars spun off the road into a field.

Kennedy’s wife, 74-year-old Mona Kennedy, was a passenger in his car and was flown to Mercy Saint Vincent’s where she was later pronounced dead.

Charles Kennedy was taken to Flower Hospital. The driver and passenger of the other vehicle were taken to Toledo Hospital.

Their conditions are not known this morning.

Alcohol was not factor.

Suit filed in deadly gas explosion | Swanton Ohio wrongful death lawyer

Five people were killed last year on February 9th, 2011. Families of three out of the five killed have filed a wrongful death lawsuit against UGI.

The lawsuit states that actions from the company contributed to the deadly explosion and resulting fires that dozens of homes were destroyed in. It states that the company is to blame because they failed to follow through on a directive from the National Transportation Safety Board to replace aging gas pipes in the area.

Also stated in the lawsuit is that UGI put a piece of wood under the pipeline in question. This is believed to have caused the pipe to weaken and crack.
