Two die, six injured in two-vehicle collision in Cleveland early Saturday | Toledo, Ohio wrongful death attorney
Two people were killed early Saturday and six were injured in a two-vehicle collision on Buckeye Road at Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard in Cleveland. Police said the two that died were thrown from the 1994 Dodge Caravan where they were riding with four other people. Daniel Sneed and Brandon Smith from Cleveland died of injuries they had gotten from the crash. The preliminary investigation revealed that the Caravan was heading eastbound on Buckeye going above the speed limit and then went through a red light at the intersection with Martin Luther King Jr. The Caravan then collided with a Ford E150 van, which was heading northbound at the crossroad.
The Cleveland Police said that “As a result of the impact, the Caravan spun out of control, ejecting two passengers, and subsequently hitting a tree”;” There was no reported seatbelt use by the occupants of the Caravan.” One occupant of the Caravan was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident by EMS. Another passenger was taken to MetroHealth Medical Center, where he died from his injuries. Three other passengers from the Caravan were taken to MetroHealth Medical Center with multiple injuries. The driver of the Caravan was treated at the hospital, and then arrested for aggravated vehicular homicide and aggravated vehicular assault. He had not been charged Saturday night. Police are waiting on the results of the driver’s blood tests.
