A bus belonging to World Wide Travel crashed along Interstate 95 in The Bronx, New York. The crash took place early in the morning on March 12th. The driver of the vehicle lost control and struck two sign poles one after the other. The accident killed 14 instantly and forced the closing of I-95 in both directions for much of the day.

The bus was traveling from a casino in Connecticut to Chinatown in New York. This is not the first incident with this company however. The company had been involved in at least two accidents in the last two years as well as being cited five times for fatigued driving from December 2009 to October 2010.

On top of the deaths there were also serious injuries to some of the survivors. The injuries included things like internal bleeding, broken bones and skull and spinal fractures.

The driver of the vehicle claims that the cause of the accident was a tractor trailer cutting him off, however witnesses claim they did not see that. The accident is still under investigation.

The bus company had a responsibility to keep their passengers safe. Their failure to do so was very costly. If you have lost a loved one in a similar manner, you need help.

The lawsuit states that the 76 year-old woman went in to the hospital in November for an infection that developed as a result of her breaking her shoulder earlier in the year. While treating her, the hospital staff gave her a blood-thinning drug called Lepirudin. The dosage that they gave her was 30 times too high and she hemorrhaged for 12 hours before passing away.

Korey Schall was working as a foreman for Crane Grain Services. He was 23 years-old and the father of a young child.

On August 21, 2009 he was working on a farm assembling a grain bin.  Flexible cord that was in use at the time was improperly wired and because of this, Mr. Schall was electrocuted. He died as a result of his injuries.

The lawsuit names Nebraskaland electric for failing to provide adequate electrical safety testing, failure to inspect and supervise all electrical cords and components, and failure to provide a 240 GFCI receptacle outlet.

Representatives of the estate say that that the damages they are seeking are “for the exclusive benefit of the child.” The amount of money in the lawsuit has not been specified, but the family has stated that they simply want a fair, reasonable and just amount.
