Wrongful Death Suit Against Atlantis Resort | Toledo, Ohio wrongful death attorney

November 30th, 2010 Author: Emmy

A lawsuit in Florida has recently been filed against Kerzner International, the owners of Atlantis Resorts on Paradise Island.

The situation happened on August 25, 2009 just after midnight. Toni Lynn Bell and her husband were asleep in their room when Mr. bell awoke just after midnight with heart attack symptoms. Mrs. Bell immediately called the front desk to ask for a doctor and also requested that they call an ambulance for her husband. Mrs. Bell waited on the phone for 45 minutes waiting for the on-site doctor to come up to the room.

After waiting for 45 minutes a hotel security guard came into the room and a little while later another came in and told Mrs. bell he was going to call the ambulance right away. Just a short time after that another man came in and claimed that he was the doctor, but it was found that he was the property’s assistant manager and not a doctor at all. The Bells waited over an hour from the time the first phone call was made.

When the ambulance finally got there they transported him to the hospital, but he died on the way there. Had Mr. Bell been properly treated he would have survived, but because of the negligence and improper handling of the situation he did not make it.

The company had a responsibility to its patrons that they did not uphold and because of this someone lost their life. Our Toledo, Ohio wrongful death lawyers are experienced in handling cases like this one and can work with you to get you the settlement you deserve.
