18-year-old Morgan Mercer of Republic was walking with another person along M-95 Northbound just south of County Road 601 in Republic when she was hit by a car driven by 83-year-old Theodore Pepin.
Mercer was taken to Bell Memorial Hospital where she was pronounced dead.
The second pedestrian was not struck by the vehicle or injured. Pepin and his wife 81-year-old Betty Pepin were also unharmed.
